Originally from Carson City, NV, Mike moved to Pocatello where he pole vaulted for Idaho State University beginning in 2008. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2013, a Master’s degree in Athletic Administration in 2014, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2021, all from Idaho State University.

Mike has an extensive background in athletics, specifically track and field. Mike competed in the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Trials for the pole vault and placed top 8 at the 2016 World Indoor Championships in Portland, OR. His personal record was 19 feet (world record is currently 20 feet, 3.25 inches). When not treating patients, he enjoys being in the outdoors, running and spending time with family and friends.
